USA 2011 trip Park #7.5
27 August 2011
Ok so this isn’t exactly an official fun park, but there was a roller coaster. We flew from Florida to LA, but had a few hours to kill before our overnight flight back home to Australia. We made an impulsive decision to get a taxi to Santa Monica Pier instead for some chilled out beach time.

We had a ride on the West Coaster, but after 3 weeks of crazy thrills this wasn’t much more than a car ride on a bumpy road. I realised I had been incredibly spoilt for choice, and wondered whether the rides back home could ever be considered ‘thrilling’ from this point on.
We enjoyed lazing on the beach with fish and chips, although our bodies were craving something other than fun park food at this point. The street performers around town were great, and I regretted not bringing my skates to test out the paths, ramps and bowls nearby. A nice gentle day to finish on, before the torturous cattle-class 15 hour flight home. This left me thinking, why is it that that a roller coaster travelling at 100km/hr is a great rush, yet flying in a plane at 900km/hr is boring?
